There are
longhaired cats and shorthaired cats. There are no medium
haired cats -- there are only indecisive people.
However, some breeds can have either trait, such as the
American Curl, Japanese Bobtail, Manx, and the Scottish Fold.
Mixed breeds and tabbies can be either long or shorthaired
but are
usually shorthaired (genetically dominant).
When mixed breeds of cats have a litter of kittens, the
litter can
contain long and shorthaired kittens. Two longhaired mixed breed cats
can have shorthaired kittens.
You have to wonder -- which way they will go?

Israel & Iran
February 9, 2012
Yesterday, Shimon Peres, the President of Israel said to
the people of
Iran:
"We were
not born
enemies, and there
is no need for us to live as enemies. Do not allow the flags of
hostility to cast a dark shadow on your historic
heritage. Your
people are a sensitive people who aspire for friendship and peace, and
not for conflict and wars." [Knesset
63rd anniv.]
Peres
also addressed the Israel-Palestinian peace talks:
"We must
ask ourselves what kind of a state we want? A Jewish state
within secure and recognized borders, alongside an independent and
de-militarized Palestinian state, or a country without borders that
will turn into a bi-national state? A bi-national state will be a
bi-national dispute. The two-states for two-peoples solution calls for
a renewal of negotiations..."

Nuclear Reactions to Iran
February
8, 2012
We
all have myths. I like Peace
on Earth. Some people worry about Iran due to weapons of mass destruction
marketing campaigns.
Setting
the World Nuclear Stage
Here's
two nuclear maps of the world. The first map shows all nuclear
blasts. The second map shows all nuclear
reactors.
Nuclear
weapons are owned by the United States, Russia, the United
Kingdom,
France, China, India, Pakistan, Israel, and North Korea. South Africa
had nuclear weapons but got rid of them.
Iran
is bowling
toward having nuclear weapons. Not yet, but very soon (???) -- is the
message that has been warned for decades.
Iranian Nuclear Power
The
United States signed the nuclear cooperation agreement with Iran in
1957, under the Atoms
for Peace program. American Machine and Foundry (AMF)
built a 5 megawatt nuclear reactor in Iran under Atoms for Peace. AMF
is known for their bowling balls and bowling equipment.
The
Shah of Iran made plans to build 20 nuclear power plants, saying
petroleum is too good to burn. Germany's Siemens AG started building
the Bushehr
plant in 1975 but halted construction due to
non-payment during the 1979 Iranian Revolution.
Then the power plant was hit by Iraqi air strikes (1985-1988). Russia
supplied a light water reactor for the plant (after payment
delays), and it finally became operational in September 2010.
It is currently nearing full
capacity (2.5% of Iran's power). That was speedy.
Not
that having nuclear power should be confused with having nuclear
weapons.
Iranian
Nuclear Bomb Threat & The Art of Crying Wolf
Israel
and the U.S. have been crying
wolf [sources: 1,

for years about Iran nearly having the bomb.
In 1984, the British defense magazine, Jane’s
Defence Weekly
said “Iran is engaged in the production of an atomic bomb,
likely
to be ready within two years.” The article based their
estimate on the minimum
time for West German engineering firms to complete one of two
unfinished nuclear reactors at Bushehr.
In
1988, Ayatollah
Khomeini said Iran needed atomic weapons to win the Iran-Iraq
War.
In
1992, Iran would have a nuclear bomb by 1999, according
to Shimon
Peres, then Israeli Prime Minister.
In 1992, Iran was 3-5
years from producing a nuclear weapon, said
Israeli parliamentarian Benjamin
Netanyahu.
In 1992, the CIA
said Iran would have the bomb in 2000.
In
1996, Iran would have nuclear weapons by 2004, according to Ehud
Barak,
Israeli Minister of Foreign Affairs.
In 1997, Iran President
Rafsanjani
declared that Iran "hates nuclear and chemical weapons. 'Yes, some say
we must have the atomic bomb,' says an
Iranian official. 'But we can't afford it. The political consequences
are too much trouble, and it's expensive.'" But
the
U.S. believes Iran will acquire nuclear weapons in
8-10
years.
In 1998, former defense secretary Donald
Rumsfeld
reported to Congress that Iran could build an intercontinental
ballistic missile, that could hit the U.S., within five years. The CIA
gave a time frame of 12 years.
In 2002, President
Bush said Iran was aggressively pursuing weapons of mass
destruction.
In 2005, a National
Intelligence Estimate said Iran is moving determinedly toward
a 2015 nuclear arsenal.
In 2009, a U.S. Senate report by John
Kerry
said, "There is no sign that Iran's leaders have ordered up a bomb.
But... Iran has moved closer to completing the three components for a
nuclear weapon: fissile material, warhead design and delivery
system... Deadlines have come and gone with Iran and so have
predictions about when it might have a nuclear weapon."
In 2010, Iran was scheduled
to have its nuclear bomb in March of 2011. (The Stuxnet
attack began in June 2010.)
Now the talk is that Iran will have nuclear weapons between 2013
and 2015.
It's
always just around the corner.
Israel
wants to stop Iran. They may
attack Iran.

Is
Israel Bombing or Is AIPAC?
The
problem with a t-shirt
saying America:
Israel's Bitch Since 1948 is that
#1 it's
$29.50 -- that's an expensive t-shirt
#2 it's
really AIPAC that has been controlling Israeli foreign policy, not the
other way around
AIPAC might be
trying to start an Iran war, like their 2003 work on the Iraq
War.
Israeli
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will address the AIPAC
policy conference, March 4-6 in
Washington, DC.

Clear
Or Nuclear
Bombing Iran would not
eliminate nuclear weapons. Besides, Iran
attempted a nuclear
weapons treaty with the Bush Administration in 2003. (Iran's 2-page
agenda.) Bush refused, anticipating a collapse of the Iranian
regime. A National
Intelligence Estimate in 2007
reported with "high confidence that in fall 2003, Tehran halted its
nuclear weapons program." A 2011 IAEA
report proves Tehran had
a nuclear weapons program but doesn't
prove that it's been revived.
A conference
titled, Diplomatic
Strategies for Preventing a Nuclear-Armed Iran
will be this Thursday, Feb. 9th at 9:30am at the Henry L. Stimson
Center, 1111 19th St, NW, 12th Floor, Washington, DC.
Petroleum
Contradictions
Iran
is running
out of oil. Well, they are and they aren't. The petroleum
resources are there. They just are running out of petroleum
that is readily accessible. They
might run out of oil
for export by 2015. Gas is 10¢
a liter in Iran. (So
we have a totalitarian government? At least gas is cheap.)
If
they run out of oil, the current regime might be run out of
power.
