If you have never gone out to one of the many fine Irish pubs in St. Paul and Minneapolis to celebrate St. Patty's Day, what you are missing is the heated tents. Heated tents are a fine Irish tradition dating back to the early days of Minnesota when the Dakota natives invited Irish settlers into warm teepees to share a beer by the fire.

Irish Pubs are disappearing in Ireland and it's not due to fewer people...
(What country's capital has the largest population? Ireland, because the population is always Dublin.)

The Irish Times reports that they're losing a pub every two days, about 1,100 since 2005. And it's not primarily due to smoking bans and drunk-driving laws.  It's irrelevancy. [read more]
